What do you think?

I have noticed that I haven't received any comments on my posts...EVER. Do you guys like this? Are there enough pictures? Am I giving enough stories? Can anyone relate to these things? Just wondering what you think....you don't have to sign your name. I just wanna make sure "Madison's Public" get what they need.

Please put all criticisms in the form of compliments. Thank you.

Maddie Faces

While teething see can "swing" a mood like a light switch!

NO FLAT HEADS HERE!!!!

As some of you may know, I tend to obsess about things from time to time. My current "fear" is that Maddie's head too flat on the back. Just the back lower part. I know that babies spend a lot of time on their backs and this makes any other activity a MAJOR priority. I am worried that if I don't do EVERYTHING I can to keep her off her back she will end up having to wear one of those "helmets" that shapes a babies head. I would just be devastated and feel like the biggest failure EVER!!! Does any other parent have this worry at this stage? Is this just one of those "first time mom" things that seems to be the answer too ALMOST EVERY concern I have these days?

The Struggle

Tummy Time is not coming as easy for our as it was at one time. She loved it just a month ago. We have ordered a special play mat that is made specially for Tummy Time exercise. The pictures of it look SUPER cute. Clearly I ordered it on the Internet...Thanks to the Target gift card we got from the shower that Justin's family threw for us when we visited KC. Can't wait to get it. Should come any day now.

This was NOT staged...I swear!!!!

So it is Saturday. Justin and I are watching TV and enjoying the fact that we FINALLY got Madison to take a nap. As you have seen in other pictures she has taken up cuddling with her bibs. We were watching Tosh.O while little bit was sleeping in her swing. We look over and this is what we saw...I removed it immediately after taking this picture.
I guess she gives us her review.

OMG

As I have said before...they can't all be GEMS!!! But even MAD she is doing really well with her neck strength.

Not the Happiest Baby on the Block

If she could just understand the wonderful benefits of a teething ring. But NO she ONLY wants her own hands.

Slobber Girl - Spit is her weapon of choice

This kid can SLOBBER with the best of them. I don't feel any teeth but I feel like she should be living with a bib on her 24/7. She acts like she is chewing a lot lately. She will take her paci for short period and other than that I have only ever gotten her to chew on her hands...and that was not something we offered - she just found them one day and it was off to the races. So for whatever reason tonight when she seemed to be a little fussy for Justin I suggested we offer her a teething ring that we bought for our trip to KC and promptly forgot in the fridge here at home. She was NEVER interested in it because it was NOT her paci or her bottle...but tonight when I placed it in her hand and made it "her" idea to chew on it...she LOVED it. Well she did love it until after this picture was taken and she realized how sleepy she was. But she seems to be resting comfortably now in her loving daddy's arms. I just can't get over that she loved it soooo much when she felt SHE was in charge...yes I am projecting emotion here I am sure.
Could she really be getting ready to cut teeth? AM I EVER GONNA SLEEP AGAIN??!!

Grandpa's favorite Maddie time.

Our beautiful little baby does have "reflux" in both of her tubes...they are a "grade 2". We are doing one more test to determine her kidney function. Since we are blessed enough to know this information BEFORE she gets sick we will be able to see her at her healthiest point. This will give us a point to start from since there is hardly ANY information or studies done on babies with her condition until AFTER they start getting sick. I will hate having to put her through yet another test but I must keep in mind that it is better to do it NOW and not when she is running a high fever. I am waiting to hear from Children's Hospital to schedule this nuclear test and it will take at least half a day...

Thank you to Grandma Betty for thinking it would be an honor to be my "co-pilot" for that day. Trust me the extra hands are NEEDED but not for her...for mommy.

P.S. Madison is OVER 11lbs now.

Specialist

We will be taking our sweet lil girl to see a Pediatric Urologist tomorrow. Due to genetics we have been told that she had reflux that involves her kidneys and bladder. We have been told it is only on her left side and that if/when she needs surgery to correct this condition it won't be until after her first birthday. So, we are going to this doctor to get all the facts and information that we can. It is important to know that she has NOT been sick at all...so we caught it early.

This is cousin Denise and it was her house that we all INVADED!!! She and Barry, her husband, were just the best hosts. And Barry served the BEST beer. Thanks man...it was hot and that brew was GOOOOOD!!!!
Oh, and the food was AWESOME!!!!! Somebody is rather handy with the grill.

Justin the "Godfather"

Justin's Goddaughter, Lindsey, made the absolute BEST cupcakes for the party. I will NOT admit to how many I ate in ONE bite...that way I can still call it "baby weight" for at least another month.

Cousin Angela just adored Madison. Justin and I we so thankful to have soooo many people who needed a "baby" fix.

KC Cookout

Justin's Aunt Rosie and Madison were super cute in their matching Red and White outfits.

Bonding with her sister

This was taken this morning. I noticed that Star was unusually attacked to Maddie today. She was laying by her and watching her A LOT...So when Star put her head at Maddie's feet I just kept watching to see what would happen. Answer was NOTHING!!! Madison just started kicking at her face with her feet and she didn't care AT ALL!!! Now this behavior I would expect from Lacey in a heartbeat...but NEVER Star.

Maybe she is being protective because we are keeping mom and dad's dog, Maya, for a few days while my brother is in the hospital. Maya is old and can hardly see. She is also a little tubby shih tuz...but Star is afraid of her and does not mess with Maya.

More to come.

We had such a great time visiting with family in Kansas City. Madison was an angel to travel with. Ethan's Birthday was super fun and cooking out with Justin's cousins, aunts and uncles was wonderful. Maddie performed for her public as always. I will post even more pics soon....I am just tired.

Daddy Loves Maddie

She is still so small and so sweet.

Ethan's Birthday

Justin and Grandpa Jim know how to have a 5th Birthday party.
